Magazine cover, double page spread and contents page

For anyone who would like some ideas or help, here is my research and final pieces. feel free to comment but preferable critical responses would be ideal.

The front cover of my magazine, personally, is fairly successful however I feel there could be some improvements for example the photo of the main model could be of better quality. some of the text is a little difficult to see as the colour of the model blends with the colour of the text.

other than the little mistakes, in my opinion, the cover is good as it suits the conventions of the rock magazine genre, admittedly, proper rock music magazines (like Kerrang) can be 'busier' although if I added more I could potentially cover up the model which wouldn't be ideal.

I also included plugs and taglines to further improve the realism of my magazine as well as including the basics - headline, bylines, bar code and price.

The contents page, similarity to the front cover, has a couple of areas which could be improved for example the mini collage of pictures below the contents title could be of similar colours or colours that suit the blue, black, yellow and white theme. I personally think its looks fairly busy and suited to the genre and offers the reader opportunities for example winning gig tickets which is conventional for music magazines.

The contents page is bright and barely has any areas of blankness or incompleteness. the article itself could be improve although the article is really relevant. I included all the conventional and key items in a double page spread i.e. page numbers, articles, picture of some form. I also included the title underneath the article.

The overall marks for my magazine is 55/60 - level 4
